 ECAI 2024

ECAI2024 will be organised in Santiago de Compostela in October 2024, hosted by CiTIUS, Research Centre on Intelligent Technologies of the University of Santiago de Compostela. Santiago de Compostela, declared a World Heritage City by UNESCO in 1985, has been for centuries the final destination for people all over Europe through the historical Routes to Santiago de Compostela. The city had been elected to host ECAI’s 2020 edition, which finally went online because of the pandemics, and, in spite of such extraordinary circumstances, Digital ECAI2020 was a huge success, with more than 5,000 attendees online. Because of this, EurAI decided that Santiago would host the 2024 edition. ECAI2024 General Chair is Fredrik Heintz (Linköping University), the Program Committee Chairs are Ulle Endriss (University of Amsterdam) and Francisco S. Melo (INESC-ID Lisboa), and the Organizing Committee Chairs are Senén Barro and Alberto Bugarín (CiTIUS, Univ. Santiago de Compostela).
Join us in Santiago de Compostela in ECAI2024 for a more than remarkable event where we will celebrate 50 years of ECAI Conferences. Please check ECAI 2024 website at https://ecai2024.eu/ for regular updates.

ECAI 2025 Following the successful 2023 edition in Kraków (Poland), the 27th edition of the European Conference on Artificial Intelligence (ECAI) will be hosted by the Italian Association for Artificial Intelligence (AIxIA), in collaboration with EurAI. You are invited to join us in Bologna, Italy, from the 27th to the 31st of October, 2025.
In Bologna you will find the most ancient University of the world, founded in 1088, and nowadays ranked amongst the most important and influencing European academic institutions. In this charming medieval city you will find a thriving scientific environment, where research on AI is conducted side by side to public bodies (CINECA Consortium hosts the largest Italian computing center for Big Data; the EU data center of the European Center for Weather Forecast is placed in Bologna as well), and to the private initiative (the region has the largest number of startup companies per inhabitant in Italy).
Bologna is easily reachable by flight: the airport offers connections to/from all the major European hubs with more than 100 daily flights. It is also strongly connected to major Italian cities through high-speed trains: whether for a day off or as intermediate steps in your travel, you can also visit Florence (30'), Milan (1h), Venice (1h20'), and Rome (2h). The city is also famous for its cuisine, renowned among the Italian food culture: in the city centre you will find many picturesque restaurants where you can taste our traditions.
We are eager to meet you in Bologna, to know your ideas and views on AI, to share knowledge and to enjoy some unforgettable moments.

ECAI2026 will be organised in Bremen, Germany. In 2026, after a 43-year hiatus, the IJCAI-ECAI will return to Germany! Hosted by the U Bremen Research Alliance e. V. and the German AI Association (GI-FBKI), the 35th International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence will take place in Bremen. Though Bremen is Germany’s smallest federal state, it is a hub for academic and research diversity. It proudly hosts branches of the renowned German science organizations: Fraunhofer Society, Helmholtz Association, Leibniz Association, and Max Planck Society, along with the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence. All these institutions collaborate closely with the University of Bremen as part of the U Bremen Research Alliance. This alliance aims to bolster research collaboration and promote forward-thinking science.
