Access to Kraków

Important!! Participants will be offered a free ticket for the public transport in Krakow once they collect their registration package. It will be displayed on their badge and will be in valid from 30 September to 4 October. 

Airport

The John Paul II International and Domestic Airport Kraków Balice is located at the outskirts of the city. How to get the city:
1. Train
It is the fastest way to get from the airport to the city center (the journey takes about 17 minutes) is the shuttle train service, which links the airport with the Kraków's Main Railway Station located in the city center. The new Kraków Airport train station is located near the passenger terminal, at the rear of the multi-storey car park. The connection is operated by Koleje Małopolskie (regional railways company operating in Małopolska Region). Trains are equipped with air conditioning, power outlets, Wi-Fi and ticket machines. All trains also have spaces for disabled passengers and persons with reduced mobility (PRM). Please, check timetable each time before your travel here.
Ticket and fares:
            Kraków Airport - Kraków Main Train Station: 21 PLN (4 EUR)
            luggage: free of charge
            dogs: 3 PLN

Where to buy a ticket:
            ticket machine in passenger terminal, level 0 (cash payment or payment with credit/debit card)
            ticket machine at train station (cash payment or payment with credit/debit card)
            train conductor on board (cash payment only)

2. Taxi
Taxi fare from the airport to the city center is approx. 80 -100 PLN (approx. 20-25 EUR) depending on time of arrival and Taxi Company. Travel duration is approx. 20-45 minutes depending on traffic.

3. Public airport buses
Kraków Airport is served by two regular buses lines: 208 and 252 and one night line: 902.
These are Public Agglomeration Bus Lines. Travel time is about 45 min.
Price: 6 PLN /one way (approx. 1,5 EUR.)
This service is not recommendable due to the many stops and the long travelling time.
There are both ATM machines and the Money Exchange Office at the Airport Building.
Please be advised that July is a touristic high season in Kraków. Make your flight reservation ahead of time to get good rates.

Train

The city can be easily and comfortably accessed by train from all larger cities in Poland and Europe.
Location of the train station "Kraków Główny" (meaning "Main station" in Polish).
